This complimentary tour is suited for those couples who are not enrolled in Prepared Childbirth classes at Baylor Medical Center at McKinney. The tour will give an up close look at our lovely family centered Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby and Newborn Nursery areas led by informed hospital staff. This tour is suited for adults only so that couples may feel comfortable asking questions without being concerned about children being present.

This is an interactive tour provided for expectant parents who are planning to deliver their babies at Andrews Women's Hospital. We also welcome those expectant parents who are trying to decide where to have their baby. The tour begins in Labor and Delivery and continues through the Postpartum and Nursery units. A question and answer period will be provided.

Breastfeeding is the single most important step new parents can take to give their baby (or babies) a healthy start. Studies show that the benefits of breastfeeding can last a lifetime. This important course provides information about how to breastfeed and avoid or overcome common problems. Breast pumps and other equipment that might make breastfeeding easier will be displayed and explained. Dads and/or Grandparents are welcome to attend with expectant mothers. Snacks and beverages provided.

Navigating the physical, emotional, and day to day issues of the cancer journey. Please join us for a monthly forum where cancer survivors and caregivers can take a first step at finding encouragement and education to navigate cancer survivorship issues. Dinner & Speaker presentation followed by small support group interaction. Groups include: Breast Cancer, Living with Cancer, Head & Neck Cancer and Prostate Cancer.

Taught by an experienced breastfeeding instructor, this course will prepare the mother-to-be with the skills that will help her breastfeed successfully. Topics include benefits, preparation for breastfeeding, position and latch, pumping and storage and nutrition. Myths and misconceptions about breastfeeding will be explored.

Breastfeeding
This class is designed to give you information that will help you make an informed feeding choice while covering recent research, how to avoid problems and build confidence. Partners are encouraged to attend with mom. You may want to take this class in the middle of your pregnancy. Topics included will be:
- The benefits of breastfeeding to baby mom and partner
- Getting ready
- Knowing when your baby is getting plenty of milk
- Working while nursing
- Pumping and storing milk

Breathing and Relaxation
This class was specially created to help you and your support person practice techniques that promote relaxation and relieve discomfort during labor and delivery. In this two-hour class you will be guided through a 'practice labor' using deep relaxation and breathing routines. You will also review coping techniques and discuss any concerns you have about labor and delivery.

Prepared Childbirth - Power Class
This course is designed to help mom and her support person to make informed choices, and feel prepared for her upcoming delivery. This course is held on one weekend a month on Saturday and Sunday for 5 hours. Covers all information in the three week series including techniques to help cope with labor information on anatomy and physiology of childbirth, medications, epidurals, cesarean birth and hospital and physician practices.

Baby Basics
This one evening course focuses on teaching first-time parents all about newborn care. Increase your confidence and abilities with instruction on bathing and diapering, circumsion care, cord care, feeding, temperature taking and identifying illness. Your instructor will also share information on infant growth and development, baby communication skills, sleep cycles, immunization schedules and safety measures.

This class is designed to prepare you & your support person for the experience of labor & delivery. The topics include the labor & delivery process. cesarean birth, anesthesia, postpartum care & a tour of Baylor's Women and Children's Center. Fast Track course is designed for the busy expectant parent by offering the same topics as a 3 or 5 day course but at a faster pace. It is recommended if one is preparing for a natural delivery to also enroll in the breathing & relaxation class.

Prepared Childbirth is a complete overview of everything you need to know for pregnancy, delivery, management of the delivery, breathing and relaxation techniques, c-sections, the initial newborn phase, postpartum, and so much more!

Sibling Class
This class meets once to orient big brother and sisters to their new role. Your children will feel special as they have this time just for themselves. They will see a film, learn about babies, and talk about the special role of big brother or sister. A mini-tour of Baylor's Women and Children's Center will be included.

A popular class for expectant parents to learn how to prepare their home to be a safe environment for baby and learn the lifesaving skills of CPR for infants. American Heart Association standards of CPR are taught. Snacks and beverages provided.

Newborn Care and Car Seat Safety
You will learn about caring for your newborn from the minute they are born to the end of their first year. Also getting you and your partner prepared for emergencies is important. You will be taught Car Seat Safety by Safe Riders to help you be ready for that first ride home from the hospital. Childproofing and infant safety will also be covered as well as product safety.

This course meets for 2 Sundays and does not include breastfeeding education as part of the course. Maternity Tour
Those who have not previously delivered at Baylor Dallas or who are not enrolled in one of Baylor's Prepared Childbirth courses will find our tour of the labor and delivery areas and the New Family Center very beneficial. This tour will acquaint you with our facilities and provide you an opportunity to ask the staff questions.

Private Tours are available based on staff availability. Private Tours must be scheduled by calling 214-820-3103. Private Tours are $25 per couple.

Living with Heart Failure
Free Living with Heart Failure seminar that is devoted to those living with heart failure and their loved ones. Attendees will learn how to live with heart failure, one of the most commonly diagnosed heart conditions. People with heart failure have trouble catching their breath when lying down, feel tired or have swollen legs. Come to this free seminar to learn about the options available for treating heart failure. A panel of cardiovascular specialists will be on hand to answer your questions.

Pregnancy Boot Camp and Nutrition
Exercise and body mechanics recommendations for expectant moms to prepare them for their changing body and techniques to help them prevent injury. Classes are taught by a licensed Physical Therapist. Topics will include recommended exercises and contraindications, return to exercise following pregnancy, common aches and pains and how to avoid them, how to get their belly back, Kegels, and what to expect from their changing body following delivery.

Prepared Childbirth Series
This course is designed to help prepare mothers and their partners for the labor and delivery experience. We explore topics such as physical and emotional changes during and after birth, the role of your labor coach, techniques for relaxation and breathing and vaginal versus cesarean birth. A tour of the hospital is also included.

Newborn/Child/Adult CPR
This session prepares participants for emergencies. This course is based on the guidelines for the American Heart Association. Grandparents and other caregivers are also invited to learn CPR so baby can be in the best of care when mom and dad are away.

Infant CPR and Safety 'Family & Friends'
This class focuses on CPR for children from birth to 1 year of age with a special focus on valuable car seat safety and home safety information as well, designed for the lay person. This is not a certification course for healthcare providers.
